The creative process for me can begin either with the matter or the form. At times, the piece of wood will strongly suggest its future form and my creativity is challenged to reveal that essence. At other times, I will have a form in mind of a piece of furniture with the challenge being to find the best pieces of wood to express that form. In either case, I consider the end product successfully complete only when it is purchased and brings joy to its new owner.
